Use this activity to report in actions that have been performed on a work order. There are several terms to classify the fault and follow up work, including performed action, failing component, cause, function, fault type, class, description of the work, start and completion dates, etc.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to report in actions using the Report in Work Order window:

  1. Open the Report in Work Order window.
  2. Query (F3) for the work order.
  3. Select the Report In tab. 
  4. Optionally, enter or modify the value in the Item Class field.
  5. Enter a values in the Performed Action field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
  6. Enter a description of the work that was performed in the Work Done and Work Details fields. You can activate text editors by double-clicking the left mouse button in the field.
  7. Enter a value in the Cause field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable combination of cause, failing component, fault type and function. This will automatically fetch a value to the Failing Component field, if defined on the selected cause, and values to Fault Type and Function fields.
  8. Enter information in the Cause Details field. You can activate a text editor by double-clicking the left mouse button in the field.
  9. Enter or modify value in the Fault Type field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
  10. Enter a value in the Class field. Use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
  11. Enter or modify value in the Function field, if an item class has been entered. Use the List of Values to select suitable values.
  12. Fill in the Actual Start field with the date when the work started.
  13. Fill in the Actual Finish field with the date when the work was finished.
  14. Save the information.
