Rename Serial (Step 4 of 6) - Cancellation of Maintenance Events

[About Serial Structures] [About Access Control] [To Perform Maintenance Engineering] [To Manage Serialized Configuration] [To Prepare Line Maintenance] [To Dispatch Asset and Close Maintenance Visit]

Usage

Use this step of the Rename Serial assistant to cancel running maintenance events which will become inapplicable for the serial after the rename. When the part number of a serial is changed, one or more running events for the serial may become obsolete. For example, a modification exists for the selected serial. This modification is not valid for the new part number and should not be performed on the renamed serial. Running events which will become inapplicable after a rename, will be shown in this assistant step and you need to cancel or finish these events before proceeding with the rename. If the event is released and the new part revision does not have predefined task cards, the event will also be displayed in this step and possible to cancel. All started events that are applicable after renaming, cannot be automatically re-populated with new task cards. Therefore, these started events will also be shown in this step and can be canceled, if needed. By default, the Cancel check box is selected for all events that are required to cancel and cannot be modified. Note: If you do not wish to cancel an event which is required to be canceled, you may exit the Rename Serial assistant and manually finish the running events before proceeding with the part identity change.

If you decide to proceed with the rename and cancel the event(s), you need to enter a valid cause for canceling the particular event.

Note: This step of the assistant can be accessed once the part number of the serial is changed and there exists running events that will not be applicable after renaming the serial.
