Usage

Use this tab to view information on the composition of a serial structure. You can connect new structural records (install), remove structural records (remove) and build part structures by copying from templates and serial structures.

You can enter serial information on this tab only once, for example, when a serial structure is created using the Import Template Structure right mouse button option and the serial numbers have not yet been generated. In which case, you can use this tab to create the serials. It is not possible to modify serial information in this tab.

When a structural change is performed (replacement, removal or installation), the system considers whether any operational loggings have been performed in the time interval between the structure change date/time and the current date/time, and how that will affect the serial that is being connected or disconnected. See the examples below.

In scenarios like the ones described above, causing operational loggings to be moved from one serial to another, all due calculations will automatically be run for the involved serials to calculate the new due dates and values when the structure change is complete.

If the part has an assigned serial number, you can connect documents and characteristics to the part in Attachments. Note: When a serial is deleted, only the connections to the attached documents and characteristics will be deleted. If you wish to delete the documents you will need to manually remove it in IFS Document Management.

Select the Change Maintenance Program right mouse button option to change the current maintenance program or maintenance group on a serial. The maintenance program along with the maintenance group determines which maintenance program should be used for the serial.

Select the Copy Template Structure (One Level) right mouse button option to copy from the template structure to the next level for your serial structure. This selection performs the same functionality as the Import Template Structure option, except that only one level is handled.

To navigate in the serial structure, right-click anywhere in the table and then click Previous Level or Next Level
