Use this tab to view or maintain general information about a serial structure item. The structure item is always created first when new serials are added. If the item has a serial number, you can update serial-specific data under the Serial area as well as in other tabs of the Serial Structure Information window.
Some right mouse button options will only be enabled if the operational status of the serial is in either the In Operation or Out Of Operation status. Furthermore, certain options require the structural item to contain a defined serial number.
If the part has an assigned serial number, you can connect documents and characteristics to the serial via Documents in the Attachments. When you delete a serial, the connection to attached documents and characteristics will be removed, although the documents themselves are not deleted from the system.
