Using Object Notes

Explanation

Many objects in IFS Applications supports usage of Notes. A note can be used for additional information on an object, comments, internal references etc.

If the page has a header and rows, like Customer Order page, there are a Note that relates to the header and Notes that relate to each row.

The Notes checkbox indicates if a note exists or not.

Procedure

Enter a note

Open an IFS Applications page and search for the object you want to enter a note for. Right-mouse click to open the context menu and select Notes. The Notes option is only available for the objects that support Notes. The Notes dialog is displayed:

Enter the text, a maximum of 2000 characters. Note the buttons Cut, Copy, Paste and Undo at the top of the dialog. Click Save button to save the text and the Notes check box on the object will now be checked.

View a note

If the object you are working with has the check box Notes checked you can view the note via the context menu option Notes, right-mouse click to open the context menu, The Notes dialog is displayed and you can either view the text or make changes. In order to change the text see section Enter a Note above.
