Procedure

  1. Open the Course Category Access Setup window.
  2. Search or populate to find a relevant course category.
  3. In the table, add a new record.
  4. In the Structure ID field, enter the identifier of an organization structure that should have access to the course category.
  5. In the Org Code field, you can narrow access to a specific organization unit. Only members of that unit will have access to the category.
Note: If you want to give access to everyone in the organization, skip this sptep and go to step 9.
  6. You can select the Subordinate check box if you want to broaden access to include all subordinate units. This will gice access to members of the entire organization branch.
  7. In the Selection Type field, select Included. This means that members of selected organization units will receive access.
Note: You can select Excluded if you want the record to revoke access instead of granting it. This is useful in a scenario where you want to give access to all organization units with some exceptions. In that case, you should define a record which gives access to the entire organization and then a record which revokes access to a particular organization unit.
  8. Save your changes.
  9. Right-click the header and click Generate if you want access setup to apply immediately.
Note: If you skip this step, access will be generated automatically as part of a background overnight job.
