Define Employee Card Parameters
Explanation
This activity is used to setup the employee card information in the system.
The format of the card data determines how the information of the card holder is
registered within the card. In this activity, you can setup how this card data
should be used by the system in order to identify the card holder. You can
define separate setups for different users so that each person can use a card
with a unique setup.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity, employee should already be created in the
required company.

Procedure
- Open the Employee Card Parameters window
and create a new record.
- In the User ID field, enter the user ID of the employee for whom
you want to specify the card parameters. You can select a value from the
list.
- In the Total Card Data Length field, specify the total number of
characters which holds the card data.
- In the Start Character field, enter the first character in the
card data.
- In the Company ID is derived from group box, specify the start
and end positions in the card data which will hold the company ID of the
card holder employee.
- The card holders employee ID or card ID should be included in the card
data so that the system can identify the correct employee information when
the card is used. You can specify whether the employee ID or the Card ID
should be included in the card data by selecting the Employee ID or
Card ID option.
Also, in the Which is derived from field, you can specify the start
and end positions in the card data which will hold the employee ID or card
ID of the card holder.
