This activity is used to create consolidated (or collective) pick lists. A consolidated pick list is a way of grouping a pick list based on certain selection criteria. This gives you the possibility to choose how your pick lists are to be consolidated, e.g., per shipment, deliver-to-customer number, routes, and planned ship periods.
In the Parameters area, you can specify the site for the records that are to be included in the pick lists, i.e., the pick lists will be created for all the shipments matching the specified criteria.
In the Pick List(s) per list, you can specify how you want to consolidate the pick list, e.g., whether you want to create a separate pick list per shipment, deliver- to-customer number, route, forward agent etc.
Default settings can be used by selecting the Default feature. Default settings are derived from the Database Tasks window set by the administrator.
The Advanced feature enables you to specify additional selection criteria for the records to be included in the pick list. For example, forward agent, location group, deliver-to-customer number, etc. Entry can be made using special symbols like the ones used in the search dialog boxes. For example, ;, %, =. You can use the wildcard percentage symbol (%) for selecting every possible value for that field. E.g., entering % in the Shipment ID field will include all shipment lines in the consolidated pick list. Entering 2% will include all shipment lines with an Shipment ID beginning with the number 2.
The Max Shipments Per Pick List field enables you to specify how many shipments of those matching the specified criteria, should be included per pick-list. You can either enter a specific value or use the wildcard percentage symbol (%) to include any number of shipments on a pick list.
The Include Shipments list controls how you want the shipments to be included in the pick list. The Within Selection Parameters option makes all reserved material of a shipment fitting the selection parameters be included in the consolidated pick list. The Complete within Selection Parameters option makes sure that all reserved material of a shipment fitting the selection parameters is included in the consolidated pick list provided that all shipment lines can be picked completely. If at least one shipment line cannot be picked completely, no pick list will be created at all for that shipment. The All Lines option enables you to include all lines that are ready to be picked of a particular shipment, if at least one line in that shipment matches the specified criteria. This will make sure that you have the option to keep a shipment together when creating a pick list.
The Only Handling Units to be Picked in One Step check box indicates if the pick list should only include top level handling units completely reserved by one demand line. For instance this will be beneficial when using bulk zones and handling units. With this check box you can distinguish the handling units that you can pick in one step, from the handling units that you have to move and then pick as a second step i.e. handling units partly reserved or reserved by many demand lines.
You can create a pick list consolidated per shipment ID using the Create Pick List right mouse button option on the shipment. Note that the creation of a pick list in the shipment can be done automatically in the shipment flow if the shipment type allows this. This is only possible for connected shipment lines that have been reserved.
The shipment lines must have been reserved in order to appear on the pick list.
