Enter Norm Types
Explanation
Use this activity to define the quality measures from which information will
be collected for use in IFS/Quality Management. This mandatory task is to be
performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.
A norm type is an ID used in IFS to collect a measurement of quality for a unit of measure, such as length, width, or height.
Norm types allow you to review results of a specific norm type's quality. All
norm types are user-defined.
Prerequisites
This activity has the following prerequisites:
- ISO units of measure must be activated in the
ISO Code Usage window or entered in the
Units of Measure
window. Both windows
can be found in IFS/Application Services.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- A norm type will be
created that can be used when creating analysis types.
- Quality information can be collected on specific norm types.

Procedure
To perform this activity, follow these steps:
- Open the Quality Basic Data window.
- On the Norm Types tab, create a new norm type.
- In the Norm Type field, enter up to 30 alphanumeric characters for the ID.
- In the Description, enter the norm type description.
- In the Unit of Measure field, select the unit of measure from the List of
Values.
- Save the changes.
