Connect Tool

Explanation

This activity is used to connect tools to one or many data points. A specific data point can be connected to none, one or many tools at the same time. A specific tool can be connected to none, one or many data points at the same time.

Prerequisites

The control plan, or control plan template, must be in the Created status.

At least one tool must be defined in the Define tab.

System Effects

As a result of this activity one or many data points will be connected to one or many tools.

For a data point connected to one or many tools, it will be mandatory to select a tool instance when entering analysis results.

Define Tool

Procedure

1. Open the Control Plan - Inventory, Control Plan - Manufacturing or Control Plan - Purchasing and click the Tools tab.
2. Click the Connect sub tab. Data points, operation numbers, test operation descriptions and defined tools will appear automatically.
3. To connect the data points to one or several tools, select the appropriate check box.
4. Save the information.
