Use this window to view integration messages resulting from a data analysis or an integration of data between IFS Applications and the external planning tool. The messages are of two types; data analysis messages and data exception messages.
A data analysis can result in any number of data analysis messages, each containing information about a specific situation where data may need to be rectified in order to have a successful integration. These messages can be of type Error, Warning or Information. If the message is of type Error, the message describes a situation that would result in the integration failing. The data must then be rectified before running the integration. If it is of type Warning, the message describes a situation that would not lead to the integration failing, but there may be a loss or change of data. An integration message of type Information is for your information only.
An integration can result in data exception messages that gives information about exceptions that occurred during the integration. These messages have the message type Data Exception. The data exception message indicates that an object was not successfully inserted or updated on the receiving side of the integration, which is often due to a violation of a business rule.
The integration message gives a suggestion of where to rectify the problem, including in which application to do this and if relevant, specifically in which project, sub project or activity where this correction could take place. There can however be more than one alternative to how to eliminate many situations. More information on integration messages are given in Integration to Primavera Project Management – Messages.
For each integration message it is possible to enter a responsible person to fix the issue, and when the issue is rectified it is possible to mark it as fixed.
