Net Project Material
Explanation
Use this function to perform automatic netting of parts demanded by the
project (and delivery project). Netting
reserves these parts based on the need date and availability. However, all
manually reserved material are not included in the netting.
The Netting check box for a demand line should be checked if
netting is to be performed for the part. If it is unchecked, then the part will
not be included in the netting.
It is possible to run netting online or as a background job. If a delivery
project exists, it is also possible to run the Gross Requirements calculation to
register the material need of the delivery project which can also be included in
the netting.
Note: Netting does not use any Project Netting Groups (PNG). These groups
belong to PMRP and are not a part of the Netting concept.
Prerequisites
- Demand for a part to be netted must have been registered in the project or
delivery project.
- The activity connected to the part to be netted must be released.
System Effects
- All material that has been reserved and pegged as automatically
reserved is unreserved and reserved again in consideration to any new
activities, modified quantities, new demands and need dates.
- The required quantity for a project specific demand is reserved from
project inventory, if available.
- The required quantity for a standard part is reserved from standard
inventory locations available for the project site.
- The Reserved Quantity is updated on the demand line (in Project) or on the
project item (in Project Delivery).
- All automatically reserved material are pegged to identify that it has
been automatically reserved.
- All reserved material are made visible in the Project
Navigator/Supply/Reserved
Material tab.
- The committed cost will be updated for the netted standard planned part.
This value is based on the current part cost of the reserved items,
if reserved from standard inventory location. The
updated cost elements are based on the posting control rule M62. Committed
cost is zero, if reserved from project inventory.
