Approve Project
Explanation
When a project is in Initialized status, it can be changed to Approved via the Approve
menu choice. A project is typically approved after its basic concept and budget have been
approved. From this status, the project can be promoted to status Started
via the corresponding menu choice.
Prerequisites
- The project must be in the Initialized status.
- Company, Manager and Customer must be registered for the project.
- Project Group must be registered in Project Groups.
- Company finance information must be registered.
- You must have access to the entire project to approve it.
System Effects
- The project is in Approved status.
- The Approved Date is set to the current date.
- Activities can be released.
- The project can be promoted to Started status.
- The project can no longer be set to Canceled status.
- A finance project is created and financial transactions can be attached to the project
in IFS Project. Project preposting information is added automatically. The
status of the financial project is set to Active.
- If the financial project is already created, the previously entered
Project Group and Project Valid From date can be changed. The status of the
financial project is changed from Planned to Active.

Procedure
- Select the project to be approved, then select Approve in the menu.
- In the dialog that pops up, enter the finance project group.
Note: If the financial project already exist the Project Group and
Project Valid From date can be changed for this financial project.
- Click OK.
