Review Supply Option

Explanation

Use this activity to review and modify values for supply options in Project Deliverables Navigator/Materials/Material List tab. The supply option controls the type of material plan to be created. For example, if the material plan should be created for Shop Order Plan, Purchase Order Plan, Project MRP Plan or MRP Plan. A default value for supply option is initially added, like this:

• Supply option is automatically set to Purchase on a project deliverable item with a inventory part of purchased type.
• Supply option is automatically set to Shop Order on a project deliverable item with a inventory part of manufactured type.

Prerequisites

• Project deliverable items should exist.
• Item type in Project Deliverables/General tab or Project Deliverables/Component tab should be set to Material.

System Effects

The following relations exist between supply option and material plan:

• Supply option Shop Order creates a material plan for shop order (Shop Order Plan).
• Supply option Purchase creates a material plan for purchasing (Purchase Order Plan).
• Supply option Project MRP creates a material plan for project MRP (Project MRP Plan).
• Supply option MRP creates a material plan for MRP (MRP Plan).

Procedure

Review supply option in Project Deliverables Navigator/Materials/Material Requirements tab:

1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and populate it with values.
2. Open the Materials/Material Requirements tab
3. Review values for supply options.
4. Modify values, if required.
5. Save your changes.
