Review Estimates

Explanation

Use this activity to review and manage the estimated cost and hours. Activated estimates are reported to the project and could be reviewed as described in this procedure: Evaluate Cost, Hours, Revenue and Progress from Connected Objects

Prerequisites

Estimates should have been activated.

System Effects

Estimated cost and hours will be accumulated when running the Update Project Cost and Hours option and Calculate Item Cost/Hours option.

Procedure

Review and update project cost and hours for a single item:

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and populate it with values.
  2. Open the Planning Items tab.
  3. Click on a record of execution type Estimate.
  4. In the Cost/Hours tab, review values for cost and hours.
  5. Manually modify estimated cost and hours values, if required. Or, copy new values:
  6. In the Cost/Hours tab, right-click and click Update Project Cost and Hours.
  7. Modified values will now be accumulated in planned cost and hours calculations, on the project activity.

Review and calculate cost and hours for a complete structure:

  1. Open the Project Deliverables Navigator window and populate it with values.
  2. Select an item in the tree from where you want to see the estimated cost and hours roll-up.
  3. Open Cost/Hours tab.
  4. Right click and then click Calculate Item Cost/Hours.
  5. Accept the recalculation of connected planning items.
  6. Open Cost tab and review cost information.
  7. Open Hours tab and review hours information.
