Run MRP for Components
Explanation
This activity is used to run MRP for master scheduled parts to plan its component supplies.
Prerequisites
Master schedule part have to be created and master scheduling has to be performed for the part.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, selective MRP will be performed and supplies will be planned for the components of the master scheduled part.

Run MRP for Components,
Procedure
- Open the MS Level 1 Part window.
- Query for the record.
- Right-click and click Run MRP for Components.
(This right mouse button option will be disabled for
project master scheduled parts. Instead, Run Project MRP for Components
can be clicked.)
- The Run MRP for Components dialog box will open with part number and site already selected.
- Select the date on which you want the MRP to be executed. The current date is used by default.
- If you want to stop the MRP process when an error occurs, you can select the Stop MRP
on Error check box.
- To generate MRP action messages for dependent
demands of phantom parts click the Phantom Part Dependent Demand Message
check box.
- If you want the MRP process to create safety stock replenishment orders by considering the MRP run date, select the
Plan Safety Stock Receipt Considering MRP Run Date check box. MRP calculates
Wanted Receipt Date of a purchase requisition line by adding lead time (according to distribution calendar) to run date and Due Date of a shop order requisition by adding lead time (according to manufacturing calendar) to run date.
If there is any event date earlier than the calculated Wanted Receipt Date or Due Date, then MRP creates safety stock on that date even this check box is selected.
If it is not selected, safety stock replenishment orders will be created on the event date itself.
- If you want to use an excess of alternate components to supply the demand of the primary components, instead of creating MRP planned supply, select the
Plan Alternate Component check box.
- Select the Run integrated with CRP check box in order to use the CRP backward scheduling logic to schedule the shop order requisitions generated from the process.
- If Run integrated with CRP check box is selected, CRP backward scheduling logic will be used to schedule shop order requisitions generated from the process. As a result, the start date of the requisitions/receipts generated will be more accurate.
