Propagate Quantity Upstream

Explanation

This activity is used to propagate quantities upstream in a DOP structure (to child levels). The quantities on lower levels in the DOP structure will change with respect to the quantity on the DOP order on which you perform the command.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that the DOP Order has components.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• The quantities on the lower levels in the DOP structure are changed. The new quantity of the lower levels are calculated primarily from the actual quantity required of the pegged supply orders. For any un-supplied quantity, the lower level quantity is calculated as the Un-supplied Qty x Qty Per Assembly + Component Scrap. Also the inventory part scrap factor is considered.
• If serial numbers are reserved for a component DOP Order and the quantity decreases, the correct amount of the serial numbers is unreserved. If there is an overflow of netted quantity for a DOP Order after the propagation, this quantity is un-reserved.
• The start date is recalculated for the DOP Orders on lower levels due to due date and lead-time, where the lead-time is depending on lot size and routing revision and alternative.

Procedure

1. Select the DOP Order from which to start an upstream propagation of quantities.
2. Right-click and point to Propagate Date/Quantity, then click Propagate Quantity Upstream.

From the graphical object structure (DOP Order/Tree Structure or DOP Header/DOP Structure):

1. Select the DOP Order from which to start an upstream propagation of quantities.
2. Right-click on the selected DOP Order object, point to Propagate Date/Quantity and then click Propagate Quantity Upstream.

From the DOP Orders window:

1. The one or several DOP orders from which to start an upstream propagation of quantities. Note that the DOP orders must belong to different DOP ID's.
2. Right-click and point to Propagate Date/Quantity, then click Propagate Quantity Upstream.
