Compare DOP Order and BOM
Explanation
Use this activity to view the similarities or differences between a DOP order with
components and a BOM structure. The different structures are displayed simultaneously in a
split window. You compare a level at the time. The comparison is made concerning part
number and quantity per assembly.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that a DOP order and a BOM structure are created.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the system enables you to view similarities and
differences between a DOP order with components and a BOM structure.

Procedure
- In the Comparator area, search for the DOP structure to be compared in the
DOP
ID list box.
- In the Comparatee area, select the part structure (BOM) to be compared in the
Part No list
box.
- Click All to view all components in both structures. You must compare the
structures to see the differences.
- Click Equal to see all the components that are identical in both structures. To
qualify as identical, the parts must have the same part number and have the same
quantities per assembly in the structures.
- Click Difference to see all the components that differ between the structures,
i.e., the components that exist in one structure but not in the other. Some of the
components that are shown as different may be the same part but have different quantities
per assembly.
- Click Tree to see the results from the all, equal, or difference functions in a
tree structure.
