Explanation

This activity is used to create a new cost allocation procedure. A cost allocation procedure is defined and performed for a selected accounting period.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity:

As a result of this activity, a cost allocation procedure is created with the Defined status. It is possible to add distributions, factors and steps to procedures of this status.

Procedure

To enter a new cost allocation procedure:

  1. Open Cost Allocation Procedures window and create a new record.
  2. Enter relevant values in the Accounting Year and Accounting Period fields.
  3. Select either Actual or Budget for the Allocation Type field.
  4. If you selected Actual as the allocation type, select a value from the List of Values for the Voucher Type field. If you selected Budget as the allocation type, select appropriate values in the Source Budget and Destination Budget fields.
  5. Save the information.
