Replace Obsolete Work Task Template Revisions
Explanation
This activity is used to replace obsolete work task template revisions
that are connected to PM actions. You
can either replace the revisions individually or process it in batches.
It is possible to view a summary of the registered
PM actions and work orders that have connections to obsolete work
task templates. To do so right-click on the relevant work task template in the
Work Task Templates windows and click Obsolete Revisions on PM Actions or Obsolete
Revisions on Active Work Orders. The right-mouse-button options will
only be available for active work task template revisions.
Prerequisites
- A connection between the obsolete work task template
revision and the PM action must exist.
- An active revision of the obsolete work task template revision
must exist in the system.
- The connected PM action must be in the Preliminary
or Active status.
System Effects
- If the obsolete work task template revision is connected to a PM action in Preliminary status, this PM Action will be updated with the active
work task template revision
- If the obsolete work task template revision is connected to a PM action in Active status, a new revision of the PM Action will be created with the active
work task template revision. This is done automatically unless there are exceptions, e.g., the revision number of the PM action is a non-numeric value or preliminary PM Action exist. For such PM actions you need to manually create a new revision of the PM action and make the connection to the active
work task template. The background job for replacing obsolete work task template revisions will be updated with information on the exceptions that need to be handled manually.

Procedure
- Open the Work Task Template window and query for an active revision
(F3).
- Right-click and then click Replace Obsolete Revisions
on PM Actions. (This option will be available only when an obsolete connection
exists.)
To replace the revisions in batches:
- Open the
Replace Obsolete
Work Task Templates on
PM Actions dialog box. Change the value in the Site field if
required and click OK. Alternatively you can click Default
display the default values defined by your administrator in
Database Tasks.
- Optionally click Schedule and follow the
steps in the wizard that appears if you wish to schedule the task as a
background job run automatically at predefined intervals.
