Inspect the Structure Using Organization Chart

Explanation

This activity is used to inspect organizations defined in the system. It gives an overview of information about organization structures, position structures, and employee assignments. The chart is particularly useful when working with matrixes where multiple organization structures are connected. It provides a unique mix of information about organizations, positions, and employee assignments.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, an organization structure has to be created.

Procedure

  1. Open the Organization Chart window.
  2. Note that any organization chart that you will generate is displayed as it would look on a date specified at the top of the window.
  3. In the search field located under the Filters pane, enter the phrase that you want to look for. It can be a name or ID of a company, organization unit, matrix organization, employee, or a position. Tabs visible on the right side under the pane will display the number of returned results.
  4. If your search returns results on any of the tabs, click the tab to inspect the result.
  5. On the Structures, Organizations, and Employees tabs, you can click the company or organization structure name to load the chart. Whatever you clicked will be the current context of the chart (explained below).
  6. Inspect the chart
