Connect a Person Category per Person

Explanation

This activity is used to connect an existing person category to the selected person.

A person can belong to one or more person categories, for example, there can be an occasion where the locomotive driver is an on-board mechanic as well. It is possible to define a default category per person.

Prerequisites

• Persons need to have been defined in the Person window.
• At least one person category needs to have been defined.

System Effects

• One or more person categories are connected to the selected person.
• The default person category is automatically suggested when a fault is reported by the person.

Procedure

Follow this procedure to connect a person category to your person ID.

1. Open the Operations and Fault Basic Data window.
2. Click the Category per Person tab.
3. In the Person ID field, query (F3) for your person ID.
4. Create a new record (F5) in the table of the window.
5. Select a category in the Person Category field. Use the List of Values to select a value.
6. Save the record (F12).

Continue with the following steps to define a person category as your default category.

7. Select the row that contains the required person category, right-click and then click Set Default Category.
8. The Default Category check box is automatically selected.
