Connect Fault Code to Discrepancy Code

Explanation

This activity is used to define a cross-reference between fault codes in Fleet and Asset Management and discrepancy codes in IFS/Manufacturing Standards.

One fault code can point to many discrepancy codes. However, one discrepancy code can only point to one fault code. When discrepancy and fault codes are connected, a discrepancy reported on a shop order also generates a fault history record for the corresponding fault in the current serial.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, fault history records can be created when discrepancies are reported for a serial on a disposition shop order in IFS/Shop Order. Only discrepancy codes with a cross-reference to a fault code are inserted.
