Use this tab to view and define distribution of component material costs among by-products and primary product for the structure alternate. The costs of each material component line in a manufacturing structure can be allocated to the by-products using the factors entered for each by-product/component combination.
The Item Cost Distribution Factor is the only field that can be updated. Each individual item cost distribution factor must be between 0 and 1. The total item cost distribution for all by-products for each component can not be greater than 1. This factor is used as a means of distributing component costs between by-products and primary product.
The cost distribution records are created automatically when the structure alternate is created or copied. The user can modify the item cost distribution factors.
These values are used by the cost calculations. Also, as with other structure alternate information, the factor information is copied when creating shop orders.
