Create Inventory Part Revision

Explanation

This activity is used to to create a new revision for an inventory part.

Prerequisites

An inventory part must exist.

As a result of this activity a new revision of the inventory part is created.

Procedure

From Inventory Part window:

1. Search for the part for which you want to create a new revision
2. in the Revisions tab, create a new row.
3. Optionally enter the revision number in the Revision field. If no value is entered the next available revision number will be automatically assigned.
4. Enter the date from when the revision should be valid in the Phase In field.
5. Optionally, enter the last valid date of the revision in the Phase Out field.
6. Optionally, enter a description of the revision in the Revision Text field.
7. Save.

From Part Revision and Part Revisions windows:

1. Create a new record and enter the part number for which you want to create a new revision in the Part No field. Use the List of Values to select from available parts.
2. Optionally enter the revision number in the Revision No field. If no value is entered the next available revision number will be automatically assigned.
3. Enter the date from when the revision should be valid in the Phase In Date field.
4. Optionally, enter the last valid date of the revision in the Phase Out Date field.
5. Optionally, enter a description of the revision in the Revision Text field.
6. Save.
