Create Visualization Chart Layout

Explanation

This activity is used to select the charts to be displayed for a window. The charts can be selected from a library of charts that are available for that particular window. Up to four charts can be displayed for a window at a given time.

The charts selected will be stored in the user profile, but you can also create and save multiple chart layouts per window.

As a result of this activity, the Visualization View chart layout for the window is saved in the user profile.

Procedure

Using the Visualization Settings dialog box:

  1. Open a visualizer-enabled window.
  2. If the Data View is displayed, click Visualization View in the tool bar.
  3. Click on the Settings icon on the topmost right hand corner. The Visualization Settings dialog box is opened.
  4. Drag charts from Available Charts to Chart Layout section. Click on the half arrows in Chart Layout to increase or decrease the chart area of each individual chart.
  5. Optionally, save the layout by clicking the Save icon on the topmost right hand corner of the dialog box and enter a name for the layout in the Name field.
  6. Optionally, select the Auto Refresh check box and enter a value in the Refresh Interval (Minutes) field.
    Note: Drag charts from the Chart Layout to the bin to remove them from the profile. Click on the bin to remove all the charts from the profile.
     
  7. Open a visualizer-enabled overview window.
  8. If the Data View is displayed, click Visualization View in the tool bar.
  9. Query for the records.
  10. Right-click on the chart you need to replace or click on the Context Menu on the topmost left hand corner.
  11. Click Select Visualization.
  12. Double-click on the chart that you desire to include in the Visualization View.
  13. Optionally, save the layout by clicking the Save icon on the topmost title bar and enter a name for the layout in the Name field.
