Select Operation(s) and Create Operation Block
Explanation
Use this activity to select one or several operations
to include in a new operation block.
Prerequisites
- A shop order operation not in status Cancelled or
Closed and not already connected to an operation block must exist
- Operations to connect must be assigned to the same
work center
- The shop order which to the operation to connect
belongs must not already have another operation connected to the operation
block.
System Effects
As a result of this activity a new operation block will be created
and the selected operations will be connected to the operation block.
If a Preferred Resource is specified this value
will also be set as the preferred resource on the operation(s) connected to the
operation block which will trigger a rescheduling of the operation(s).

Procedure
Shop Floor Workbench window
- Open the Shop Floor Workbench
window. If Reporting Mode has been set to Employee Reporting
on the used site an employee or team must have been entered in the
Enter As dialog box.
- Click Refresh. The operations will be
displayed according to the filter that is being used.
- Select the operation(s) that you want to
connect to an operation block, right-click, point to
Operation Block
and then click Connect. The Connect Operation(s) to Operation
Block dialog box opens with the selected operations populated in the
table section.
- Select the Connected check box for the
operations you want to include in the operation block.
- Select Create New Operation Block.
- Optionally specify the work center resource on
which you prefer the operations in the operation block to be performed. Use
the List of Values to select from
available work center resources.
- Click OK.
Shop Order/Operations or Shop Order
Operations window
- Open the appropriate window and search for the
operations to connect to an operation block.
- Select the operation(s), right-click, point to
Operation Block
and then click Connect. The Connect Operation(s) to Operation
Block dialog box opens with the selected operations populated in the
table section.
- Select the Connected check box for the
operations you want to include in the operation block.
- Select Create New Operation Block.
- Optionally specify the work center resource on
which you prefer the operations in the operation block to be performed. Use
the List of Values to select from
available work center resources.
- Click OK.
Shop Order Machine Load, Shop Order Labor Load,
Machine Operation Load In Standard Hours or Labor Operation Load
In Standard Hours visualization chart
- Open a visualizer enabled window
and query for the site needed.
- If the Data View is displayed, click
Visualization View on the title bar.
- Right-click and click
Select Visualization.
The
Select Visualization dialog box is
opened.
- Double-click Shop Order Machine Load, Shop
Order Labor Load, Machine Operation Load In Standard Hours or
Labor Operation Load In Standard Hours .
- In Shop Order Machine Load, Shop Order
Labor Load charts, right-click and click Y-Axis/Shop Order Operation.
- Select the inner segment representing the shop
order operation(s) you want to connect to an operation block, right-click,
point to Operation Block and then click Connect. The
Connect Operation(s) to Operation Block dialog box opens with the
selected operations populated in the table section.
- Select the Connected check box for the
operations you want to include in the operation block.
- Select Create New Operation Block.
- Optionally specify the work center resource on
which you prefer the operations in the operation block to be performed. Use
the List of Values to select from
available work center resources.
- Click OK.
