Perform Operation Split
Explanation
Use this activity to define how to split the quantity between the original operation and the new operation. Select the relevant work center for the new operation.
Prerequisites
- A shop order operation with a quantity available to receive must exist.
- The split reason should be there defined on the Split Basic Data/Split Reason Code tab.
System Effects
A new shop order operation will be created by the
system. The new operation will have the same sequence operation number as the
original. The operation will use the same setup, runtime and crew size by
default, but you can modify the new shop order operation after the split or in
the wizard.

Procedure
To split a shop order operation using
the data view:
- In the Shop Order window Operation tab,
Shop Floor Workbench or Shop Order Operations
window, right-click on the operation that can be split and then select Shop Order Operation Split/Split. The Shop Order Operation Split
wizard opens with the details of the original shop order operation in the Original Shop Order Operation to Split area.
- In the New Split Shop Order Operation area enter the reason for the split in the Split Reason field
or use the List of Value to select one.
- By default you will get a new Op No, but you can edit the operation number. Select the work center on which the split operation will be performed on. Enter the split quantity for the new shop order operation in the Split Op Qty field.
Note: Values will be entered automatically in the New Op Qty and the Orig Avail to Split field.
- Click Next.
- The operation details are inherited from the original operation. You can edit the values that needs to be changed other than the inherited value. If the operation is an outside operation
then select
Outside Op Item, and if needed change Outside Op Supply and Outside Op Rpt Level.
- Click Finish.
To split a shop order operation using
the visualization view:
- Open a visualizer enabled window
and query for the site needed.
- If the Data View is displayed, click
Visualization View on the title bar.
- Right-click and click
Select Visualization.
The
Select Visualization dialog box is
opened.
- Double-click Shop Order Machine Load, Shop Order Labor Load,
Machine Operation Load In Standard Hours or Labor Operation Load In
Standard Hours .
- Right-click and click Y-Axis/Shop Order Operation.
- Select the inner segment
representing the shop order operation you want to split, right-click, point
to
Shop Order Operation Split
and then click Split. The
Shop Order Operation Split
wizard opens with the details of the original shop order operation in the
Original Shop Order Operation to Split
area.
- In the
New Split Shop Order Operation
area enter the reason for the split in the
Split Reason field
or use the List of Value to select one.
- By default you will get a new

Split Op Qty
field.
