This activity is used to create a shop order using a shop order requisition. If the shop order requisition is created by Project Material Requirements Planning (PMRP), the shop requisition type should be PMRP and attached with project activity (PPSA- Program ID, Project ID, Sub-Project ID, Activity ID). When creating a shop order from a requisition, PPSA should be copied to the shop order and the shop order should get the pre-posting from the project.
If alternate components have been used in the material requirements planning netting process, the Alternate Component Used check box in the Shop Orders window will be selected. This indicates that the planner must take manual actions before releasing the shop order to avoid shortage problems for one or more components.
This activity requires the existence of a shop order requisition with a status of ProposalCreated.
If the part is serial tracked and has either Structure Effectivity or Routing Effectivity set to ‘Serial’, you must reserve serial numbers for the entire lot size on the shop order requisition before you can either create a shop order or merge into a shop order. The serials you choose to assign to the shop order requisition must be for a single structure or/and single routing alternative.
As a result of this activity the system creates one or more shop orders from the selected shop order requisition. The ownership and owner values of the shop order requisition will be transferred to the new shop order. The maximum lot size of the part and the quantity on the shop order requisition dictate how many shop orders are created.
If the shop order requisition is connected to a project activity, the shop order requisition's planned committed cost and planned committed hours are moved to the shop order(s).
