Create Kanban Circuit

Explanation

This activity is used to create a new Kanban circuit.

Prerequisites

• An inventory part must exist.
• An inventory location must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a new Kanban circuit is created supplying the part to the specified inventory location.

Procedure

1. Create a new record and enter the part number for which the Kanban circuit should be created in the Part No field, or use the List of Values to select one.
2. Enter the inventory location to which the part should be supplied in the Supply to Location field, or use the List of Values to select one.
3. Select the type of source from where the part should be supplied in the Replenish Type list.
4.  Enter the source from where the part should be supplied in the Replenish Source field, or select one using the List of Values. The List of Values will dynamically show either inventory locations, inventory location groups, production lines, suppliers or sites depending on the selected replenishment type.
5. Select how supply for the Kanban should be initiated by selecting a signal type from the Signal Type list.
6. Enter the quantity per Kanban card in the Qty per Kanban field.
7. If selecting signal type Automatic (Reorder Point), enter the number of kanban cards in the No of Kanbans field and the reorder point quantity in the Reorder Point Qty field.
8. Save.
