Add Shop Order By-Product

Explanation

Use this activity to enter and change information about by-products of manufacturing for a specific shop order. When you enter a by-product on a shop order, you enter the quantity of the by-product manufactured for each parent part.

Prerequisites

 The status of the shop order must not be Closed.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the system adds a by-product that applies only to this shop order. It does not alter the standard structure of the parent part.

Procedure

1. Select New in the By-Products tab; the Line Item No field is automatically filled with the next consecutive number.
2. Type the by-product number in the Part No field. Use the List of Values to select from available parts.
3. In the Qty per Unit field, type the quantity of the by-product manufactured when you manufacture one parent part.
4. Optionally, enter the operation from which the by-product should be received in the Operation No field.
5. The system automatically updates the Lot Size field.
6. Click Save.
