This process retrieves all obstructive tasks from IFS/Maintenance for a given site, work center, resource, tool, or tool instance. Next, it converts those tasks to maintenance resource breaks. This will make the resources unavailable for scheduling operations due to maintenance. Therefore, this best represents unavailability of machines and tools and employees due to planned obstructive maintenance work in the shop floor. Unlike a manual resource break, which is created by a user, a maintenance resource break is automatically created by the system and cannot be rescheduled beyond its need date in the scheduling server.
As part of the retrieval process, the system includes the ID number of the
obstructive task. This ID number appears in the Task field in
various windows containing data about resource breaks.
