Move with Transport Task
Explanation
Use this activity to initiate the move of a part or a handling unit. The part
or handling unit will be added to an existing transport task according to
consolidation rules and the handling unit capacity or a new transport task will be created.
Prerequisites
- If you want to move a part the part should be available in stock, or
reserved to customer order, project deliverable, material requisition, shop order or DOP order
demand.
- If you want to move a handling unit this handling unit should be
available in stock, or reserved to customer order, project deliverable,
material requisition, shop order or DOP order
demand.
- To be able to move a reserved part or handling unit the
Move Reserved control in Site/Extended Site
Info/Inventory tab should be set to Not Pick Listed,
Not on Printed Pick List or Allowed.
System Effects
A new transport task will be created or an existing one will be used according
to the consolidation rules.

Procedure
From the Inventory Part in Stock window:
- Open the Inventory Part in Stock window.
- Populate or query to find the part(s) to be moved.
- Select the part(s) to be moved.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task.
- In the To Location No field on the header, enter or select the to
location using the List of Values.
- In the Qty to Move field in the table, enter the quantity to be
moved.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Handling Units in Stock window:
- Open the Handling Units in Stock window.
- Populate or query to find the handling unit(s) to be moved.
- Select the handling unit(s) to be moved.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Handling Unit window:
- Open the Handling Unit window.
- Populate or query to find the handling unit(s) to be moved.
- Select the Structure tab.
- From the tree-structure, select the handling unit(s) to be moved.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Receipt window:
- Open the Receipt window.
- Populate or query to find receipt to be moved.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task in the
Receipt header.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Receipt/Details window:
- Open the Receipt window.
- Populate or query to find receipt to be moved.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task in the
Receipt/Details tab.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Move into Stock window:
- Open the Move into Stock window.
- Populate or query to find receipt at arrival location to be moved to a
picking location.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
From the Move into QA window:
- Open the Move into QA window.
- Populate or query to find receipt at arrival location to be moved to a
QA location for inspection.
- Right-click and then click Move with Transport Task.
- In the To Location No field, enter or select the to location
using the List of Values.
- Click OK to confirm.
