Enter or Change Expiration Date
Explanation
For each inventory location record, you can either enter a new expiration
date or change an existing one.
Expiration Date can also be set for a handling unit and then all the
inventory location records connected to that handling unit ID inherit the
applied availability control ID.
Prerequisites
- There must be parts available, e.g., the parts in the transaction cannot be in reserved
status.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, an expiration date is entered or changed.

Procedure
From the Inventory Part In Stock window:
- Either query for the inventory location record or select Populate.
- Select the line with the desired inventory location record.
- In the Operations menu select Change Expiration Date.
- The
Change Expiration Date window will appear.
- If there is an expiration date for the inventory location record, you can
see this in the From field. Enter your new expiration date in the To
field.
- Click OK.
From the Handling Unit window:
- Open the Handling Unit
window.
- Query for an existing handling unit.
- Click the Structure tab to
view the handling unit structure details.
- Right-click on the handling unit and and then click
Change Expiration Date.
- Enter the new expiration date in the dialog.
- Click OK.
