Connect or Change Availability Control ID
Explanation
The availability control ID is connected to inventory part in stock records and is used for
determining availability. This functionality is useful, for example, to perform a
modification or a test before using or selling the part. It can also be used when a part
is being taken out of stock.
If an availability control ID is already connected to an inventory part in
stock record, you
can change the connection or completely remove it. If the inventory part in
stock record
does not have a connection, you can make a new one. When you enter an availability control
ID for an inventory part in stock record, it is valid from that moment forward. This means that
demands and purchase orders that are already entered will not be affected.
Availability control can also be applied for a handling unit and then all the
inventory part in stock records connected to that handling unit ID inherit the
applied availability control ID.
Prerequisites
- An availability control ID must have been entered in IFS/Inventory,
Inventory Basic Data/Part Availability Controls.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- An availability control ID is connected to, changed, or removed from an
inventory part in stock record.
- The parameter settings for the availability control will determine what can be done with inventory at inventory locations that are associated with the availability control ID.
- When applied on a handling unit it is all the inventory part in stock
records
attached to that HU and its underlying structure that will have the new
availability control ID.
