This activity is used to define zones and access panels for a task card or subtask.
Task cards and subtasks define the work that needs to be done and often where it physically has to be done. In Aviation, the physical location of the work is most commonly defined by aircraft zones and access panels. Each task card or subtask can have references to multiple aircraft zones and access panels.
Zones and access panels cannot be defined for both the task card and connected subtasks. For instance, if a task card exists with one or more connected subtasks, it will not be possible to register any zones and access panels for the task card. If the task card has zones and access panels prior to connecting a subtask, you will be allowed to connect the subtask only if the task card is in the Preliminary status. When the task card is activated, the zones and access panels will be removed automatically.
The zones and access panels defined for the task card or subtask will be included when maintenance events are distributed to a work order in IFS/Work Order Management.
As a result of this activity, it will be possible to group task cards and subtasks by zones and/or access panels, e.g., for planning work orders.
