View BOM Structure Graphically

Explanation

Use this activity to study a graphical representation of the structure of parts. The user can see the extended view of the structure of a part. This view can be exploded to all lower levels to display components of subassemblies as far down as the structure extends.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a part with a structure must be defined.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system displays a graphical representation of the structure of parts.

Procedure

1. Select the part you want to study by using the list box in the Part No field.
2. To view the graphical structure in the Graphical Structure tab, expand each node in the structure. To expand a node either select Expand (for one level) or Expand Descendents (for all levels) from the right mouse button menu, double-click on the node itself, or click on the "+" symbol to the left of the node. A node without the "+" symbol indicates the node has no children.
3. To see more detailed information about a part, select the part in the Graphical Structure tab.
