Define Process FMEA Header
Explanation
Use this activity to define a process FMEA header, to
create an associated checklist, and to approve the header. A process FMEA header is the
connection between a routing alternate and a function, or intended purpose of a part. It
contains basic FMEA information such as FMEA type, status, and the user ID of the person
who created the FMEA record. Each header can be associated with an FMEA checklist. This is
a list of questions that you must check off before changing the the status of the header
from Created to Approved.
Prerequisites
This activity requires the existence of a routing alternate.
To be able to approve the FMEA checklist and the FMEA header at least one risk priority number (RPN) must exist for the process FMEA. This means that at least one completely defined process FMEA function, failure, effect, cause and control must exist.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, you will have created a process FMEA header with a
status of Approved.
