Define Process Type(s)
Explanation
Use this activity to select events for a shop order process type
to be used when you perform the auto order processing function. You can select from among
three different events when defining the shop order process type:
- The Release Shop Order Requisitions event converts the
requisitions to shop orders. Note that only unreleased requisitions are affected.
- The Release Shop Orders event moves the shop orders from the
Planned state to the Released state.
- The Reserve Shop Orders event reserves all allocations for the
shop orders.
The system handles the Release Shop Order Requirements event
first, the Release Shop Order event second, and the Reserve Shop Order event last. Thus,
if the shop order process type is correctly defined, a requisition and the shop order
created from it are released and all allocations for that shop order are reserved. When
reserving the shop order, the system sequences the shop orders to be processed first by
priority, then by the revised start date of the shop order, and finally by the normal
indexed descending order based on the shop order number.
