Create Standard Part from Configuration
Explanation
This activity is used to create standard parts for an already known
configuration. When the same configuration has been used a lot of times it can
be a good idea to create a standard part for it.
In that way it is possible to first try out a part by using configuration and
then later switch to standard product.
Prerequisites
- IFS/Configuration Back Office and IFS/Configuration
Characteristic must be installed.
- A configuration must exist in Configuration Specification.
- A Configuration Structure
Revision with an Alternate in status with status Build.
- Top part of the selected configuration must be
manufactured
- When multi-site planned configured parts are used they must first be
created as standard part in the supply site.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, you will get a faster order line registration
by using standard part instead of configuration.
The new standard part can be used to produce to stock.
