Copy Structure Alternate

Explanation

Use this activity to copy a specific structure alternate to a specific structure alternate on a pre-existing structure revision.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that the structure for which you want to create an alternate must have been created.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system copies a specific structure alternate to a specific structure alternate on a pre-existing structure revision. No serial pointers are copied. These must be manually defined by the user. If this new component contains components, the alternate will be set to the default state, as defined in Site/Manufacturing. If you check the Copy Attached Documents check box you will also copy documents attached to Structure Alternate and Line Item to the new alternate. The default value for this check box will be stored in the user profile.

Procedure

  1. Select the part and the source structure alternate.
  2. Right-click in the Product Structure tab and click Copy Structure Alternate, or right-click in the Recipe Structure tab and click Copy Recipe Alternate, or right-click in the Config Structure tab and click Copy Config Structure Alternate.
  3. In the Destination Alternate group box, click List to select the destination part in the Part No field.
  4. Select the revision number in the Revision No field in the Destination Alternate group box. Click List to select from existing revisions.
  5. Enter the alternate number in the Alternate field in the Destination Alternate group box.
  6. In the Destination Alternate group box, click List to select the site to which you are copying.
  7. Select Structure Type from the List box in the Destination Alternate group box.
  8. Click OK.
