Connect Tool ID to Operation

Explanation

Use this activity to connect tools, and associated tool information to operations in the routing.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• The part must have been defined with at least one routing.
• A tool ID must be defined in Manufacturing Tool.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Tools are connected to operations in a routing.
• Routing information is used in planning, scheduling, and shop order reporting.

Procedure

1. Query the part with operations to which you wish to connect tools.
2. Click the Routing Tools tab.
3. Create a new record (F5).
4. Enter the ID of the alternate in the Alternate field. Use the List of Values to select from available alternates.
5. Enter the ID of the operation in the Operation No field. Use the List of Values to select from available operations.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 for each tool to be connected to operations on the routing.
7. Save the record.
