Define Certificates

Explanation

This activity is used to define certificates that can be assigned to employees or positions.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, certificate groups have to be defined in the system.

Procedure

  1. Open the Certificates window.
  2. In the area on the left of the window, select the certificate group under which you want to register new certificates. You might need to expand the certificate tree in order to find the relevant certificate group.
  3. In the Certificatestab, add a new record.
  4. In the Certificate ID field, enter the identifier for the certificate.
  5. In the Certificate Name field, enter the name of the certificate.
  6. In the Certificate Description field, you can enter a short description of the certificate.
  7. In the Duration field, you can enter the duration for which the certificate can be effective for an employee. Duration can be specified in months or years depending on the duration unit of the certificate. If this field is left blank, there will be no specific duration.
  8. In the Duration Unit field, you can enter the time unit used to measure the effective duration of the certificate.
    Note: This field should be filled in only if the Duration field has been filled in.

  9. In the Analysis Valid From and Analysis Valid To fields, you can specify a time period during which the certificate will appear in analysis windows.
  10. Select the Safety Certificate check box if the certificate should be visible in the Health and Safety Policy window, on the Safety Certificatetab.
  11. Select the Public Certificate check box, if the certificate should be published in the Qualification Finder. If the check box is cleared, the specified certificate will not be available in the Qualification Finder.
  12. In the Level Template ID field, you can link the certificate to a template which will automatically load predefined levels.
    Note: The certificate will become linked to the template, meaning that whenever a template is changed, all certificates using it will have their levels changed as well.
  13. Save your changes.
