View/Send/Import System Template

Explanation

Use this activity to view, send to file, or import an existing system template. A system template is either a report template, a row template, or a column template. System templates are generally available for all companies in the current database. System templates can be copied to companies in another database. Use the Send to File operation for this. System templates can also be copied from another database by using the Import from File operation.

Prerequisites

Before displaying a system template, the following must have been completed:

The template must have been created via the Export to File operation in Column Templates, Row Templates or Report Templates

System Effects

As a result of the activity, the system templates are displayed. The Send to File or the Import from File operations can be used.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to view a system template:

Open System Templates.
Find the existing templates.
Use the Send to File operation to make a copy of a column template, a row template, or a report template and save it in a file. The file can then be copied to a company in another database.
Use the Import from File operation to import a column template, a row template, or a report template that has been created in a company in another database.
