Enter Product Type

Explanation

Use this activity to categorize products by product type. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

Product types must be defined before you can start using them for your products. You do not have to specify a product type when creating a new product, but it is advisable to do so if you have many products. This makes it possible to query on products belonging to one specific product type.

Procedure

To perform this activity, follow these steps:

1. Open the Product Basic Data window and click the Product Type tab.
2. Create a new record.
3. In the Product Type field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the ID.
4. In the Description field, enter the description.
5. Save the changes.
