Map Accounting Periods

Explanation

This activity is used to map accounting periods with the reporting periods of a reporting period definition for a selected company. The purpose of this activity is to identify the time period covered by a reporting period in terms of the accounting calendar of the company. Instead of performing this activity, you may manually specify the connections between reporting and accounting periods of a selected company in the Reporting/Accounting Period Connections window.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, a reporting period definition connected to at least one company should exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the reporting periods of the reporting period definition will be automatically mapped with the accounting periods of the selected company.

Procedure

To map accounting periods for a selected company:

  1. Open the Reporting Period Definition window and search for the reporting period with the reporting periods for which you want to map accounting periods.
  2. Select the record, right-click and then click Companies per Reporting Period Definition ID to open the Companies per Reporting Period Definition window.
  3. Select the company for which you want to map accounting periods, right-click and then click Map Accounting Periods to open the Map Accounting Periods dialog box.
  4. Specify the time period for which accounting periods should be mapped with the reporting periods by entering appropriate values for the From Year and To Year fields.
  5. Select the Include Year End Period check box if you want the year end periods in the accounting calendar to be included in the mapping.
  6. Click OK.
