Define Tax ID Type

Explanation

Use this activity to create tax ID types for a company, supplier, or customer based on their country connection. Tax ID types can be used when entering tax information and for other purposes such as tax reporting, invoice document printing, etc. 

Using this activity, you also can define tax ID number layouts for any tax ID used by Argentinean companies.

Procedure

1. Open the Tax ID Types window.
2. Create new record.
3. Enter the name of the tax ID type in the Tax ID Type field.
4. In the Country Code field, use the List of Values to select a country code to which the tax ID type will be applied.
5. Enter a report code and, if applicable, a description for the report code.
6. If you want to specify a tax ID number layout, right-click on the record and then click Tax Number ID Layout. In the dialog box that displays, specify the layout format in the Layout Format field. (For example, you might specify a layout of XXX-XXXXX if your numbers will should be formatted like 123-12345, or you might specify XX-X-XXXX for number formatting such as 12-3-4567.) Click OK.  
7. Save the tax ID type record.
