Check If External File Template Is Valid

Explanation

Use this activity to make sure that an external file template definition is valid. This validation should be performed each time definitions of the template have been modified but also when the Valid field is unchecked.
The Valid field must be checked to be able to use the file template.
Please note that the Valid field is not modified automatically when e.g. the template details are modified.

Prerequisites

To make the check meaningful a complete definition of an external file template such as template header, template details, input and output file options and file template control statements should have been defined first.

System Effects

If the current definitions of the external file template are considered as valid then the Valid field will be checked and the template referred to when processing an input file or creating an output file.
However note that even if an external file template is marked as valid, the template will not be seen in List Of Values unless the template is marked as active and has been defined as an input file or output file template.
