Enter Transmittal Counter

Explanation

This activity is used to enter transmittal counters for specific projects. These counters will control the value of the transmittal ID for each document transmittal within these projects.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, a project must be created in the Plan and Execute/Projects window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, when creating transmittals, the transmittal ID will be generated according to the selected project ID.

Procedure

1. Open the Document Transmittal Counters window.
2. Create a new record. (F5)
3. Enter a value in the Transmittal ID field.
4. Enter numerical values in the Start Value and Length Shown fields. This will denote the value on which the counter will start and how long it will be.
5. Enter values in the Prefix and Suffix fields.
6. Enter a project ID in the Project ID field or use the List of Values to select a suitable value.
7. Save the record. (F12)
