Simulate Routing Cost

Explanation

This activity is used to simulate costs for routing alternates independent of the routing alternate status.

Note: You cannot perform a cost per routing calculation for cost set 1. If part has a by-product, cost reductions related to the by-product will not be taken into consideration when part routings cost is simulated or viewed.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• Cost sets must have been defined.
• A manufacturing or prototype routing must have been created.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• Costs will be calculated for the given routing alternate.
• Routing cost type cost records will be created for the part routing cost. Only the last simulation for a routing alternate will be saved.

Part Routing Cost

Procedure

1. Open the Part Routing Cost window and create a new record.
2. In the Site field, click List and select the site for which you want to perform the cost simulation.
3. In the Part No field, click List and select the part for which the simulation should be performed.
4. In the Cost Set field, click List and select the cost set for which you want to perform the cost simulation.
5. In the Routing Rev/Alt field click List and select the routing revision/alternate for which you want to perform the cost simulation.
6.  In the Lot Size field enter the lot size for which you want to  perform the cost simulation.
7. Save the record.
8. Click Calculate in order to calculate the cost for the given combination of structure and routing.
